INTRODUCTION:
The simple design of the Pitch Blade Turbine impeller provides a combination of both radial and axial flow.
 
The Pitch Blade Turbine is usually inclined at an angle of 45 degree. Constructions are with two to eight blades while three and four being most common.
 
They provide both moderate shearing level and moderate flow level, handling moderate viscosity mixing up to 10,000 cps. These impellers can be used in either down-pumping or up-pumping mode.
 
While useful in most applications, Pitch Blade Turbines are widely used in heavy duty mixing because they are very cost effective due to the simple design; especially effective for heat exchange with vessel walls or internal coil.
 
RIXU IMPELLERS FOR INDUSTRIAL AGITATOR:
Impeller is the key element of an agitator for an efficient mixing. As there are thousands types of impeller available for different applications, it means the selection of the suitable impeller is not easy, while at RIXU, we do it based on accurate calculation and more important, the "experience".
 
Basically, there are two types of impellers, depending on the flow regime created:
(1) Axial flow impeller
Marine propeller; Hydrofoil; Pitch blade
(2) Radial flow impeller
Anchor & Gate; Dissolver; Rushton turbine; Helical ribbon; Retreat
 
Axial flow impellers impose essentially bulk motion, and are used on homogenization processes, in which increased fluid volumetric flow rate is important.
 
Radial flow impellers impose essentially shear stress to the fluid, and are used, for example, to mix immiscible liquids or in general when there is a deformable interface to break. Another application of radial flow impellers is the mixing of very viscous fluids.
